What is Senior Home Improvement (SHI)? Senior Home Improvement (SHI) is one of our programs that help low-income seniors who are unable to maintain their home. Sunrise of Hopes is working with the Senior Service of Gwinnett to help the seniors improve their living conditions for a better quality of life. This program is a part of Sunrise of Hopes ‘Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative’. SHI activities include minor interior/exterior home repairs and yard cleaning.
How does it work? The Senior Service of Gwinnett will submit a qualified senior to Sunrise of Hopes. Sunrise of Hopes will also select qualified seniors who submit forms through our website.
How much does it cost? Senior Home Improvement: The cost is dependent on the scope of the project. And sponsor is required for the project. SHI is a great way to improve our community. Senior Home Repair: The cost is your donation with a minimum of $20for low-income seniors and disabled individuals.
Who can volunteer? Anyone 18 years and older can volunteer for construction projects. Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills.
